How did you get into wedding photography?
After graduating in Fine Art Photography from RMIT Univeristy, Shannon worked exclusively in the Advertising field of photography both throughout Australia and Asia. Eventually he was asked by a few clients, that loved his style, if he could photograph their weddings and Sorrento Wedding Photography and Films was born. Why the name Sorrento Wedding Photography and Films?
Shannon, having grown up in the Blairgowrie/Sorrento area, chose the name Sorrento Weddings as he loved the area and the relaxed yet professional atmosphere on the Peninsula. Our wedding images are beautiful, organic, bright and colourful much like the beauty found on the Peninsula. We pride ourselves on our combined experience and skills, and we have been fortunate enough to have had features in numerous magazines and blogs, including Cosmopolitan Bride, Melbourne Bride, Bride To Be, Real Weddings, Style Me Pretty, and Polka Dot Bride. All our photographers and videographers have been a part of the Sorrento Weddings team for many years and strive to produce the most beautiful, natural and creative images and films at every wedding.
So with a name Sorrento Weddings- do you only shoot on the Mornington Peninsula?
Ok- don’t let the name fool you we regularly photograph weddings all over Victoria. Be it Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, the Mornington Peninsula and country Victoria- you name it we have been (and love to travel) everywhere!
Where are you located and how do we book?
We are available for meetings at our Melbourne studio and Mornington Peninsula office by appointment most days. It’s always wonderful to meet face to face but if you cannot make it into the studio or office we can always Skype! If you decide we are the right fit for your wedding we require a $400 deposit for each photography or videography service.
Can we add additional hours to our package?
You can add additional hours to any of our photo and video packages.
Do you edit and retouch the photos?
Absolutely- all your images are individually adjusted, colour corrected and lightly retouched. Unlike many other photographers we do not use filters on our images and find the most beautiful and timeless editing comes from individually correcting each frame.
Do you do offer video/wedding films?
We sure do! We have an amazing video crew and offer both affordable, amazing highlight films and long cut video packages. Our couples are always so excited to have a motion film of their day.
Can we choose the music for our video?
Yes, you can choose songs you like from our extensive list of licensed music. We are also here to help if you cannot decide- Christine has a great knack of choosing the perfect songs to compliment a couple’s day.
How long before we see our photos/video?
A few days after your wedding we will send you a sneak peek of images to share with family and friends and on social media. If you have video of your day you will generally receive a link within two weeks. We generally deliver your photos and video on USB in around 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
How do we receive our images?
As soon as your photos are ready we post them online to a private password protected gallery where you are able to view images, download and share to social media if you wish. We also post out your USB to you as well.
Are you able to do Albums and Prints?
Absolutely- we offer a beautiful range of albums and prints for any budget and love seeing our couples wedding images printed.
Do you do engagement shoots?
We sure do! Having an engagement shoot is a great way to get to know your photographer and feel comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. These sessions are held in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula and are priced exceptionally affordable.
