Emma & Gurinder - Sikh Wedding

Emma and Gurinder - Sikh Wedding.  We were so thrilled to be able to photograph and film Emma and Gurinder's wedding celebrations over two days!  This was the first day at the Sikh ceremony and what an experience it was- so much tradition, dancing and an array of colour (a wedding photographer and videographer's dream!) The Sikh ceremony itself started early in the morning at Gurinder's family home before the Baraat (procession) complete with Gurinder on horse danced to the Gurdwara Sahib in Blackburn.  Once at the Gurdwara the families officially met with a tradition called the Milni.  The Milni is where each family member greets each other and exchanges a garland symbolise acceptance into each family.  And it was quite fun to see the guys jostle and laugh to be the first to lift the other into the air once the had exchanged garlands!  As Emma prepared for the wedding we captured a few images before she walked in- she looked so amazing in her traditional red Salwar Kameez.  The emotions were running high with Emma shedding a tear but as soon as Emma and Gurinder looked at each other- those two beautiful smiles shined and the ceremony began.  What an amazing day to be a part of- we hope you enjoy looking through the gallery as much as we loved capturing it!
